Getting Rich as an Acolyte → Priest
May 28, 2009As I’ve promised, I’ll tell you guys the secret of getting rich as an Acolyte turned Priest, and chances are that you’ll be even richer than those of the Merchant Class.
Warping
This is the most popular and easiest way to get rich.
Firstly, buy hundreds of blue gemstones from Prontera Merchants at 480z ~ 520z. Don’t buy anything higher than that price because I promise you, the price will get lower. And also don’t buy from the Geffen Magic Tool Dealer because it’s just way too pricey: 600z. Remember, at this point, every zeny counts.
Step 2, stay — don’t sit — near the Priests’ area; that is the area near the Merchants’ Corner where most people, Acolytes and Priests stay to find parties and offer or request warp and boosting services. Create a chat room saying that you’re a warper, and make sure that you really are a warper — have your Warp skill at Level 4 and ensure that you’ve memoed the popular leveling spots; I’ll enlist these later on. Also, watch out for people who’ve created their own chat rooms requesting for warp — they are your costumers. Remember what I’ve told you? Don’t sit when creating you’re chat rooms. Why? Because sitting will only slow you at getting to your costumers first. Remember, there is always competition.
To get the Warp skill, first get Ruwach. People from iRO, there is no Teleport skill in pRO so this basically makes Ruwach the only prerequisite skill for Warp; I don’t really know if this is an upside or a downside to the Acolyte class as this makes getting Warp skill easier and giving the Acolyte extra 2 skill points, which would be rather put on maxing out Teleport that is needed for Warp, but having no telport skill is quite disadvantageous, especially for escape purposes, and that only makes you have Fly Wings as your only hope.
Popular warp destinations are listed in order of popularity.
- Ice Dungeon — commonly referred to as id
- Moscovia — commonly referred to as mosco/mosc
- Geographers — commonly reffered to as geo/ein
- Lighthalzen — commonly reffered to as LHZ/lighthal/light
- Droseras — commonly reffered to as dros
- Veins — commonly reffered to as thors
When you’ve already spotted you’re potential costumer, don’t enter his/her chatroom. Deal him/her right away for it is a common mistake for Acolytes and Priests to talk to their costumer first which leaves their costumer vulnerable from deals and offers from competing Acolytes and Priests. However, if you’ve managed to deal him/her first then, almost always, his/her is already yours; this is because no one can participate in multiple deals meaning you’re costumer may only have a deal with you, and dealing offers from competing Acolytes and Priests are automatically rejected by the moment of their request.
Your offering price should range between 2,000z ~ 3,000z. However, you have the right to raise it up to 10,000z when the costumer’s destination is Lighthalzen, Droseras or Veins. This is because only a few number of Acolytes and Priests memo there, and the costumer has no choice but to accept you’re price lest he/she’ll be forced to stay in Prontera for the next hour finding another Priest whom he wishes to pay at a very low price. And the chances of finding that kind of Priestis quite low.
Pasundo service
This is pretty much like warping except that you’ll consume more than 1 blue gems stone. This is because this service requires you the go pick-up a character from a certain location — a location where warping Priests are rare — and deliver him to another location — this is usually a city like Prontera.
You don’t need to offer the service yourself through chat room creation; they will come to you.
This service should almost always cost 10,000z, and anything lower than that is a rip off.
Boosting
Boosting requires a bit more effort than the other services, as such this usually costs something around 300,000z ~ 700,000z every 30 minutes of this service. Yeah. That’s a large number. But don’t come into thinking that this is very easy. Chances are you’ll even die a couple of times while boosting your costumer. As such, only high level Priests may offer this service; usually, Priests around Level 60 ~ 99 offer this service.
There are two types of boosting: Heal boosting and Tanking. Most of the times, you’ll be tanking.
Heal boosting is practically healing a low HP, low level character or his/her mercenary while he/she or his/her mercenary is attacking a certain monster. Resurrection is very much needed in this one.
Tanking means you’ll attack a monster while he/she or his/her mercenary is attacking the monster that is attacking you.
Having a costumer with a mercenary in hand means faster kills and less trouble for you. Likewise, costumers without mercenaries should have their boosting cost higher.
