The Priest Guide
May 24, 2009Introduction
Well, Priests are natural support types in Ragnarok. Their skills range from, as I have said, party support skills, opponent debuffing, and undead- & demon-exorcism. As such, they are the most excellent class against undead and demon monsters, dealing AoE (Area of Effect) damage, but are pretty much useless against other types of monsters. But don’t get the idea that exorcist priests are useless; leveling in Nifflheim and the Cursed Abbey is great, and one can stay in the Cursed Abbey up to level 99.
Also, Acolytes are a great class for newbies, especially poor ones, since, with heal, you will never need to use potions ever again, and, for that same skill, you would be pretty much in demand in parties. Remember, they need you. It is pretty much impossible to level for most classes when they are already above level 40.
Besides being in demand, Acolytes, by just staying at a crowded place in Prontera, can raise up a pretty good sum of money by just warping. I’ll elaborate this later on on the last section.

Types/Builds
There are primarily 4 types/builds of Priests. They are as follows.
Full Support
This is one of the most common Priest builds. Also known as FS, they invest all of their skill points on their buffs leaving none to their exorcism skills whilst the allocation of their stat points varies from player to player: some choose to do INT-VIT-DEX or INT-DEX-VIT whilst some choose a pure INT-VIT. I personally prefer INT-VIT though. “Why?” you ask? It’s because INT-VIT builds have higher HP’s meaning one can support/heal/boost one’s party member’s longer if ever that the priest is the one being attacked by the monster or is the one tanking for the party. They are the most wanted build in parties.
Stat Build
Info for trancendents are inside parentheses.
INT-VIT (Build for higher HP and longer support)
INT - 99
VIT - 99 (96)
AGI - 5
LUK - 5
DEX - 1 (30)
STR - 1
HP: 8,678 (10,953)
SP: 1,636 (2,114)
HP Recovery: 55 (73)
SP Recovery: 34 (40)
MATK: 295~460 (296~500)
The following are DEX-inclusive builds. Many people choose to include DEX since this reduces casting time.
INT-VIT-DEX
INT - 99
VIT - 79 (83)
AGI - 5
LUK - 5
DEX - 52 (54)
STR - 1
HP: 7,827 (10,102)
SP: 1,636 (2,114)
HP Recovery: 55 (75)
SP Recovery: 34 (40)
MATK: 295~460
INT-DEX-VIT
INT - 99
DEX - 79 (83)

STR - 1
HP: 6,678 (8,560)
SP: 1,636 (2,114)
HP Recovery: 44 (54)
SP Recovery: 34 (40)

Gloria - 5
Sanctuary - 1 (5)
Aspersio - 5
(Assumptio - 5)
(Meditatio - 10)
(Redemptio - 1)
Basilica is not recommended as it is simply useless: although one cannot be attacked under the basilica, one cannot also attack, it will also be instantly cancelled once the casting priest, and it requires a lot of items to consume including the expensive and semi-rare red and yellow gemstone.
Leveling
Level 10~20 - Spores (One map south of Payon)
Level 21~40 - Mukas (Two maps south of Morroc)
Level 41~99 - Party (Leveling spots depend on the class of your party)
Battle Priest
I don’t know if this build is still popular but I’m gonna discuss this anyway. Battle priest builds are pretty much like Monks; they are melee fighters depending on the supportive skills to buff themselves. Builds are primarily STR-VIT-INT or STR-AGI-INT; the former relying on a high HP for survival whilst the other one relying on dodge for survival.

Leveling
Level 10~20 - Spores (One map south of Payon)
Level 21~30 - Mukas (Two maps south of Morroc)
Level 31~40 - Metalings (One map north of Lighthalzen)
Level 41~50 - Les (Moscovia Dungeon Level 1)
To get to Les just create a chat room near the merchants corner in Prontera, say “Pawarp sa mosco 3k” and soon expect a Priest to deal you and open a warp portal going to Les. Once you’re there just memo the place so you won’t have to pay for the warp service anymore. It is also highly suggested that you equip a headgear compounded with the Ungoliant Card; this card gives you immunity from bleed, and Les inflict bleed A LOT. If you don’t have the money for that kind of headgear, you MUST Lex Divina all Les in sight — this is because they mob — and don’t attack any unless all Les in sight have been silenced. It is also suggest that you silence Wooden Gooblins, which are also found on the same map, since they heal damaged monsters around them.
Level 51~55 - Wooden Goblin (Moscovia Dungeon Level 1)
Level 56~60 - Siromas (Ice Dungeon Level 1)
Ice Dungeon, just like Moscovia/Les, is reacheable through the warp service.
Level 60~65 - Sphinx 3 (West of Morroc)
Level 66~70 - Pyramid B1 (Northwest of Morroc)
Level 71~80 - Clock Tower Level 3 (Aldebaran)
By this time, try to get a full support Priest.
Level 81~90 - Seals (2 maps east, 1 south of Comodo)
Level 91~95 - Somatology Laboratory 2 aka BioLabs2 (Lighthalzen)
Level 96~99 - Somatology Laboratory 3 aka BioLabs3 (Lighthalzen)
You would need to finish the BioLabs Entrance Quest before you can access it, and, also, going here without a party is suicide.
Turn Undead
I hate this build. This build deals damage primarily through the Turn Undead skill, which, by a not so low chance, can deliver an instant death to any undead monster. Now you say, “Whoah that’s awesome! I wanna be a TU (Turn Undead) right now!”. Well it doesn’t work like that. They say that this build is very easy to level. That is false. Even in Anubis, it would be still hard because most of the time, it is not the Anubis that you will meet up but Minorous, Pasanas and Mimics, all of which are NOT undead, and very deadly even for parties. Now you say, “Nifflheim!”. No! TU’s don’t work well in mobs even if there is a Priest or a high-vit crusader tanking for you. Even in Nifflheim, not all of the monsters are undead; many of them are demons. As such, TU would only work on half of them.
Now so much for the criticisms, now let’s talk about the real facts about TU’s. They invest their stats on INT and DEX whilst saving some for LUK; DEX reduces the casting time of TU, and INT and LUK increases the chances of having a successful TU hit. But be warned; every 10 LUK only adds 1% to the chance that it will deliver instant death. Yes, 1% only!
Now for leveling spots, none! Really, none!
But for those who have already chose the path of the TU, there is still hope since TU has few prerequisite skills you will still have a lot left for supportive skills, which, in turn, would make you something like a “hybrid support”. But still, this build sucks.
Magnus Exorcismus
Now this is my favourite! That is, besides the FS build. This is the easiest build of partying Priest to level. Altough unlike FS’s which have an exhaustive array of supportive skills, ME’s can still support. And unlike FS’s which only sit beside the party whilst the party deals damage to the monster enemy, ME’s support and deal Godly damage at the same time.
The Magnus Exorcismus skill enchants the ground whereas any demon and undead monster who happen to be on that ground be hit by extremely powerful damage. Damage that is even greater to that of the Crusaders Grand Cross, and has a wider coverage that the Grand Cross; ME is circular, GC (Grand Cross) is, of course, cross-shaped.
There are disadvantages though. ME only damages demon and undead monsters unlike GC which damages all kinds of monsters. And also ME requires a blue gem per successful cast. But don’t come into thinking that ME would impoverish you as the loots in Nifflheim and the Cursed Abbey in the Nameless Island, where you would level until 99, when sold, will deliver you much much more money, even more than the money you used to buy the gems. In short, there is profit.
DEX is for reducing the very very long 15-second casting time of ME; every 10 DEX reduces 1 second of ME casting, and some even manage to reach as high as 150 DEX through DEX stats, equipment, buffs and foods. This means an instant cast in no time at all. Watch this Youtube video below for reference.

Gaining Money
Simply warp and boost. I’ll elaborate this on future posts as this post is now getting very very long.

I’m sorry but I disagree very strongly with your thoughts on the TU build. it is by far the easiest way to get a priest reborn fast and with noone’s help at all. first of all, with at least 90 int, enough dex for casting, and some luk, you can easily kill Anubis fast and effectively, and with gloria, its even MORE insane. and it is true that there are lots of pasana and minorous in the sphinx but thats why you constantly teleport. you find an anubis alone, lex divina him, throw up safety wall and gloria, and BOOM dead. sometimes I kill anubis so fast the other mobs don’t even have time to hit me before I teleport away and do the same thing. please at least try out a TU priest before you talk crap about it.
